Time Management for CAT Exam

If there is one thing which the winners regard more precious than money, then it will undoubtedly be time. Time is the very crux of every successful person’s life that many owe their success to better management of time. So much of worth time management holds in ensuring success in our lives that we should become conscious that time is ticking away and start working religiously.

Time management is one of the arts of leading life beautifully. Just as beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder, time too sends different undertones to different people. For an indolent person, time is just another opportunity to while away, whereas for the industrious, it is more about creating and optimizing opportunities. For a businessman, every second counts and for a champion, every winning second is gold and every losing second is a lesson. Everyone can stand to gain out of time, provided they use it discreetly.

Time can either be a boon or a burden. A person who makes judicious use of time sees it as a boon and the one who intends to kill time looks at it as a burden, without even realizing that it is he who gets killed and not time.

Time is also a cruel taskmaster to many, just as it rewards those who hold it in high regard and punishes the impunctual. Aren’t we aware of the ‘Ant and the Grasshopper’ tale where the Ant gets rewarded for its timely act of storing grains during summer for enjoying its winters and the lazy Grasshopper pays the price for its slothfulness.

Time management is a rewarding experience of aligning our activities in order so that they are completed in time in a time-bound schedule. Sheer disregard for time management will have unwelcome consequences like repentance, loss of money and sometimes, even loss of life. Therefore, it is always unwise to wait until the 11th hour to act.

So much importance is attached to time management that the shrewder a person is in managing time, the better would they be rewarded. Hence it’s high time one stopped wasting time reading this essay and did something useful.
