PGP- PMP: One-Year Post Graduate Programme in Public Management and Policy
PGP-PMP is a One-Year Post Graduate Programme in Public Management and Policy from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. It is a full-time residential programme with a sharp focus on public policy formulation and implementation, financial regulation, infrastructure development, and public enterprise management.
PGPX: One Year Post Graduate Programme in Management for Executives

PGPX Admissions
Admitted candidates should have good GMAT scores, a good academic record, a clear idea of why they prefer IIMA for doing their one year programme, leadership potential and substantial work experience that shows some evidence of a supervisory/managerial role in an organization that they have worked for.
IIMA has always enjoyed special preference of Indian as well as foreign recruiters on account of its excellent performance sustained over a long period of time and its strong brand image.
Heading India's top corporates and contributing at all levels in various global conglomerates, the Institute's Alumni form a sustainable competitive advantage for the organizations that recruit them. Over the years, the market for the Institute's graduates has remained bullish, as freshly placed recruits continue to deliver on their promises and satisfy their employers.
Placements at the Institute are handled entirely by the students, from the corporate interactions during the year to the Placement Week, every year. Even though the placements are spread over November to March, corporates gauge students throughout the year.
The placement process this year saw an exciting range of roles and opportunities on offer for IIMA students. The highest number of offers on campus were made by the Union Bank of India (18 offers) which has offered senior positions to IIMA graduates across various verticals of the bank, giving them a once in a lifetime opportunity to make a significant strategic difference to UBI’s growth over the next few years. Twelve students were recruited by Jaypee Capital, a first time recruiter on campus – for managing their operations in financial and capital markets - roles that are similar to those offered by international banks. We see these as examples of “flight to quality” where new firms are recognizing the opportunity to hire IIM Ahmedabad graduates for strategic roles in growing their businesses and for establishing new businesses.
Other prominent recruiters include Bain and Company (8 final acceptances), McKinsey and Co. (8 final acceptances), Boston Consulting Group (7 final acceptances), TAS (7 final acceptances) and first time recruiters Frost and Sullivan (5 final acceptances). The process also saw participation from Unicon Securities, which made 12 offers, global network giant Alcatel-Lucent which made 5 offers and offers from a range of firms returning to campus such as IOCL, STCI, Bank of Baroda, SEBI, IFCI, BPCL and ICRA.
Finance and Consulting continue to rule the roost
According to the Economist's survey of global business schools in 2009, IIMA is considered to be the "toughest in the world to get into" as over 600 people compete for every seat. IIMA was ranked as the top business school in India according to the Business Today B-School Rankings in 2007-08 and the Economic Times B-school Survey 2007. The Centre for Forecasting & Research ranked IIMA as India's top business school in 2009. IIMA has European Quality Improvement System accredition.
