in 1 q ans will be 5,-1.
solutions are as follows::

1. A= 2 + i, 2- i
ON resolving, you will get the following equation for A :
A2-4A+8=0.
For this the Discriminant will be : 16-32= -16 = 16i2
Hence sqrt(Delta)= 4i
Therefore, A=(4+4i)/2 and A=(4-4i)/2
ON resolving, you will get the following equation for A :
A2-4A+8=0.

Therefore, A=(4+4i)/2 and A=(4-4i)/2
in question 1, the answer would be either Data Inconsistent or Cannot Be Determined , as we are getting imaginary numbers as solution for A , which is beyond the scope of CAT
can anybody post solutions to 2nd and 3d questions?
1st question solution should be +-3i
let p and q be roots then p+q=A-3 and pq=2-a
then square 1st eq and put p^2 +q^2=0
ans is 5 or -1
