5 Easy Tips For Deep Cleaning Your Bathroom

Bathrooms have a reputation for being one of the dirtiest rooms in a house. Which makes sense considering the kinds of activities that go on it there. This means that the bathroom definitely needs deep cleaned on a regular basis. These are five simple steps to help make this daunting task a little easier.

Set up for success-

The first thing that you should do when cleaning the bathroom is set yourself up to get it done in the most efficient way possible. One of the most important things to do is open the windows or turn on a fan to help circulate some air throughout the bathroom because most of the cleaning products used in the bathroom have strong chemicals. Another way to prep for the deep clean is to remove everything from the countertops; this is going to make it easier to wipe down.

Start big-

Start with cleaning the largest and most intimidating spots first. A good trick is to put the cleaner of your choice in the toilet, then start on the shower. For the shower, it is best to spray it down with a cleaner and then wipe it off. It is important to not forget the showerhead when you are cleaning. It gets a lot of build up from the minerals in the water. When you are done with the shower, it is time to start scrubbing the toilet.

Mats and towels-

Make sure if you have mats on the floor that those are getting washed regularly. Also, if you have decorative towels those need washed, even if they aren’t being used. Toss the mats and towels in the wash with super hot water while you are cleaning and they will be done when you are.

Wipe everything down-

Grab a microfiber cloth and a mixture of vinegar and hot water and just start wiping everything down. Wipe out the sinks, the countertops, the cabinets, the mirrors. Anywhere that you can see to wipe, just wipe it out or wipe it off. This includes areas such as: the walls, the baseboards, lights, and even the ceiling.

Sweep and mop-

Once everything has been wiped down and the floors don’t have anything on them, sweep and mop. This seems like a given but after scrubbing and wiping everything down it can be overlooked after all that hard work. Sweeping and mopping can really help clean up a room, no matter which room it is.

It is recommended that you should clean the toilet and sink at least once a week. The bathtub should be cleaned every two weeks. This makes it easier to do a monthly deep clean because it helps to keep germs from building up.
